I have the honour to bring to your attention

the following facts:-

1.

(a) I was educated at Perse School, Cambridge, and

Dulwich College, being 3-1/3 years on the Engineering

side and leaving when I was in the 6th form. After

which I joined Messrs Jas. Simpson & Co., Pumping

Engineers, Pimlico, London, as a pupil, and spent 5

years with them.

(b) I joined the service of the Trinidad Government

on a temporary agreement for three years in June 1901,

and was transferred to the Hongkong Government in May,

1904, and am now for the third time Acting Executive

Engineer.

(o) While at Mesare Jas. Simpson & Co. I went through

all their various shops and drawing office, and for

some six months was sent to their new works near Newark-

on-Trent where I had experience in the construction of

buildings of brick and iron, and in various other branches

of Civil Engineering.

(d) In Trinidad I superintended the erection of two enginee

the ferro-concrete roof of a reservoir and had experience

of other Civil Engineering works including the sinking

of a large well.
